Soccer Performance Training
Soccer is a game based on combining speed, endurance, and strength into a nonstop, change of pace, team sport that pits one player against another on the individual level. The team that is able to conquer the greater amount of individual victories will come away with the win.
This combination of traits is necessary throughout every player position–despite the small nuances each skill position merits –on both offense and defense making strength training, speed training, and agility training essential tools that will improve your game.
A sweeper has a different set of skills and mindset that will enable them to excel as the last defender outside of the goalie, which is much different then the mindset and skill set of a center forward. Therefore you shouldn’t expect to train the same way either.
An Individualized Sport Specific Performance Training program focuses beyond just the general Sport Specific needs of a Soccer player but towards each of the individual positions you play on the field. Your 90 minute comprehensive Soccer Performance Training session will include elements of strength training, conditioning, agility training, speed training, plyometric training, core strengthening and stabilization, balance and proprioception training, flexibility training, injury prevention, sport specific training, and position drills that will be customized to your specific needs based on your position, level of competition, injury history, goals, and the results of your Functional Movement Screen.
Additionally, if you are a female soccer player your chances of getting a non-contact Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury are much greater than your male counterparts and therefore part of your Soccer Performance Training Session will include specific exercises, developed from the most current research, on correcting the muscle imbalances and body mechanics that make you more susceptible to having a non-contact ACL injury.
Our Performance training staff are all Licensed Physical Therapists in the state of New Jersey who have their Doctorate degrees in Physical Therapy with over 7 years of experience in Orthopedics and Sports Medicine. Additionally, they have had to go on and get post- professional national certifications in the areas of strength and conditioning. This ensures that each athlete will be trained by the industry’s practitioner of choice for performance training and injury prevention.
